Sheila Ndumi is a brand designer who enjoys turning ideas into identities. Her work focuses on brand identity, visual systems and communication, with a particular interest in how strategy can shape the way a brand looks, feels and connects with people.
She believes good design is about understanding the idea behind a brand, finding what makes it different and building a visual language that can communicate that clearly. She enjoys the process of taking something abstract and turning it into something people can remember.
When she’s not designing, you’ll probably find her watching Chinese movies, getting lost in a good story or looking for new things that spark her imagination. She also enjoys illustration and exploring ideas simply for the fun of creating them.
And yes, she can spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about why a brand needs one particular colour, typeface or visual detail. It’s all part of the job.
